Prior to founding PWR, Pat has taught business communication skills for over 20 years at the university level. She believes that writers must know the value of the written word in the growing global business culture and instills in her students the practical and efficient strategies for clear and concise writing.
Knowing that employers value employees who can write and speak effectively, she presents interesting programs for business writers with materials that enhance these communication skills.
Pat earned a M.A.T. in English from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, and has taught business writing, college composition, literature, and grammar. Further she has participated in a wide range of continuing education classes in subjects such as business accounting, computer software, and English as a second language.
Deborah Griffin, consultant, has business experience in the aerospace industry, small manufacturing and not-for-profit agencies. Having lived and worked overseas, Ms. Griffin is especially adept at understanding the challenges and opportunities facing communicators in global business environments. She offers one-on-one coaching in business writing for executives whose native language is not English and training seminars for groups of executives who are new to international business.

As a Lecturer in Writing at the university level, she has developed effective teaching and coaching strategies that can be applied to any business environment.
Ms. Griffin is a 1982 graduate of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Literature from the University of Houston–Clear Lake.

Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences. . . This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subject only in outline, but that every word tell.
